What’s the difference between Mat and Equipment Pilates?
Mat Pilates: Exercises are performed on a mat using your own body weight and gravity for resistance. Props like resistance bands, balls, and rings may be used to add challenge or support. Mat classes are great for building fundamental strength and control.
Reformer Pilates: Exercises are performed on a specialized machine called a Reformer. The machine uses a sliding carriage, springs, and pulleys to provide adjustable resistance. This allows for a wider range of exercises and the ability to work specific muscle groups more intensely.
